Susan got recognition from the fashion industry by “Handbag101 Awards IHDA”. In 2009 she was an award winning finalist out of thousands worldwide for “Best Student Made Handbag” and 2011 for "Best Handbag with Swarovski Elements with InStyle." Her concept was the dream catcher. The crystals represented the dreams and the chain represented the web, which was the pathway towards the dreams. With this amazing concept, New York accessory designer Susan, received full sponsorship from Swarovski Crystals. Because of the well known competition worldwide, Susan was offered an apprentice with prestigious Couture house Viktor and Rolf in Europe immediately after graduating from Parsons School of Design.

With a Menswear design background from Parsons, Susan was drawn to details and decided to focus on footwear and handbags. Susan worked/consulted for companies such as Kipling, Cole Haan, Calvin Klein PVH, Saks Fifth Avenue, Global Brands, Lands’ End, Kenneth Cole, and many more. As a former Principal Handbag Designer for Anne Klein, she handled 22 million dollar business account and made 20% increase in wholesale.

 

Susan has been successful designing for multiple brands in her portfolio and adhering to the vision, esthetics and needs. She currently works for CALPAK as a product designer & developer.
